The FarmTeam Cookhouse & Bar is a relatively new player on the bar and grill scene. Having opened its doors in January 2012, this relatively new establishment somehow manages to feel like home every time you're here. From the warm & friendly staff to the rustic yet elegant décor, the FarmTeam is the type of place you can come for locally sourced breakfast with your family, a business lunch with gourmet homemade soup and sandwich combos, enjoy seasonal and local Farmer’s dinners with friends and explore the bumping nightlife for a night of drinking out on the town with some live, local talent.
A North American style cookhouse and bar, the FarmTeam is a family restaurant that comes with a pub flavor later on in the evenings. We are already making a splash in the Ottawa nightlife scene.
Our bar is fully stocked with a selection of fine liquors and wines, as well as 11 beers on tap. While we do feature internationally renowned classics (Guinness, Stella, 1664 Blanc, etc.) and domestic staples (Alexander Keith’s, Rolling Rock, etc.), our focus is on local, naturally produced micro brews: we feature Ottawa Valley favorites such as Beau’s Lug Tread, St. Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale, and a house beer called Barn Dog Ale which is brewed specifically for FarmTeam by Nickelbrook.
This micro-brew selection is in keeping with the farm-to-table concept which is also evident in the menu. The focus here is on naturally sourced ingredients from local farmers. Many of the breads are local, and the eggs are free-range from Bekings Poultry Farm. Heading into the fall & winter we will also be featuring Farmer’s Dinners with meats, cheeses, and veggies from nearby farms.
With free WiFi, an incredibly cozy and unpretentiously gorgeous atmosphere, and a roaring fireplace to warm those cold nights, it is the place to be in the Glebe this fall and winter.
